Dr. Nataraj H. R. is a well-known ophthalmologist in Banashankari, Bangalore, since 2003.
After completing his MBBS in 1995 from Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences, Bangalore, he worked for a couple of years in Government institutions, gaining Valuable experience in General Medicine and Cardiology.
He completed his post-graduation in ophthalmology (D.O.M.S) from M. S. Ramaiah Institute of Medical Sciences in 2001. He subsequently pursued a fellowship in General Ophthalmology at B.W. Lions’ Eye Hospital, Bangalore, gaining extensive expertise in cataract surgeries and clinical management of various eye disorders.
He founded ABHAYA EYE HOSPITAL, BANASHANKARI, Bangalore, in 2006, and was the Medical Director and Chief Eye Surgeon until 2019.
To further enhance his surgical expertise, he underwent advanced training in phacoemulsification at Moorfields Eye Hospital, London, UK, in 2008. In 2009, he received specialized training in Lasik and refractive surgery under Dr. Rupal Shah (Director, The Centre for Sight Eye Hospital, Mumbai).
In 2014, he completed a short-term observership at Cleveland Clinic, Ohio, USA, focusing on modern trends in cataract management (Refractive Cataract Surgery) to correct astigmatism and near-sightedness, helping reduce dependence on glasses after cataract surgery.
In 2019, he collaborated with Dr. Agarwal’s Eye Hospital, Chennai, to establish and lead as Medical Director (Clinical Services) at Dr. Agarwal’s Eye Hospital, Banashankari, Bangalore.
Later, in 2022, he pursued further exposure in the United States with a focus on hospital management, operations management, technological adoption and strategic planning in ophthalmic health care systems to enhance patient care, operational efficiency and quality standards.
With years of dedicated practice, he has developed a comprehensive, personalized, and empathetic approach to eye care for his patients.
